BLOW Photo magazine, Ireland's new photography magazine is now on sale from Inspirational Arts. Launched to coincide with PhotoFestival Ireland, it features a mix of emerging and established, Irish and international photographers. This first special issue was rushed into publication to coincide with Ireland's first international photography festival, PhotoIreland Festival 2010. The featured photographer is Julia Fullerton-Batten, a commerical, editorial and fashion photographer based in London. Julia's reputation as an art photographer is primarily based on 'Teenage Stories' a three-part project shot over several years. Also featured is the work of Monika Fabijanczyk. Originaly from Poland, Monika is now based in Dublin where she has been studying Photography and Digital imaging at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin. Some of her series 'Coastline' was included in this year's NCAD Graduate Exhibition. If you missed that, you can still see some of this work in BLOW Photo magazine. Monika's work includes several series about edges: edges of land, sea and society ('On the Edge of The Land, 'Ocastline', Horizon', 'Identity'). She recently exhibited some of her work at 'Full Spectrum', a group show at the Mill Street Studio and Gallery, Dublin. BLOW Photo features some images from Ciara's series 'The Lady's Got Two Legs'. Ciara has more work here. Dublin based Paul Kelly is no ordinary portrait photographer. He has produced several series of portraits, among which is the East Timor series which is well worth a look (here and in BLOW Photo magazine). |
